Loading screen

Would it be possible to, when loading a new level or something, to change to a loading screen while the big level loads.

    you can have a loading image on the screen with a alpha of 0 and right before you change the scene change the alpha to 1. Since the loading image will be showing on the screen when the change scene happens, itll stay on screen threw the load
