After working on the template we have decided to work on this some more and release this later on in the year.

This isn't a plug for the template as it's not out yet but to show you what i have so far for the full release.

So far it Features:

FULL layers, hero can go in front and behind and even in between enemies and also the enemies can go in front and behind each other (i think this is a 1st with GS)

New Jump method because of the joystick moving hero it was impossible to do it the normal way and also the hero collides with the walls so it wasn't so straight forward.

Full hit boxes 4 in total for accurate punch low/high and kick low/high.

True 3d feel because of the attack only registering when your within 30 pixels of the enemies Y.

Enemies attack you if you don't attack them.

    Man i was REALLY looking forward to getting this one soon !! ;) but hey the more you guys work on it, the more polished it will be, so I'll wait patiently ! lol

    My favorite thing I remember about double dragon was, for the early enemies, being able to repeatedly punch an enemy in the face and as long as you kept punching you could knock them out. For later enemies you always had to learn the attack patterns to know what would work.

    This looks good. Ready this year is a pretty big window- hopefully it is sooner than later :-)

    You never answered me about if you were working on an Angry Birds template or if that was just a typo in one of your signatures...

    @_@ .I've been waiting for you to make this template since i was like... 5... i've never purchased templates before.. but this one is a MUST. A MUST i say!.

    Thanks guys it was certainly a challenge and i had to think outside the box a few times but the outcome was very very rewarding,.

    @ greenrhyno yes Angry Birds should be ready at the end of the week.

    Tested on a 3gs its 55-60 fps but you know me i will do my best to make it run nice on older devices and i will test with my 2nd gen touch in the morning:)

    I believe it is , i have tried to do it for my RPG game , where i have 5-6 enemies on the screen but i didn't find an effective way to achieve this .
    God i wish GS will bring support for Z axis !
    I would love to get a hint =)

    simple spawn in front or behind if it's simple animation,... or constantly have two layers actor that follows each other and have one appear and the other not? haha ? works in my head.. but who am i to say anything =) looks like one or the other as you can see one of the enemy flashes when you move across him.. but non the less i'd buy this because it'd save so much time. and time = money.. lots of it...

    Added in death for hero and enemies (they come back to life after a few seconds).

    I also trimmed the code down a lot and got rid of some actors using another method.

    I wish it was so simple , my heroes are using the methods of switching actors (in front and behind) and thats fine , but to duplicate my enemies or constantly spawn them is a big no no for my project , fps will drop to 10 if i do so , cause my enemies have a very sophisticated AI and they are extremely rule heavy .
    Im eager to see what Darren came up with . guess i need to wait till he finish .

    Getting better all the time. Will there be things like using weapons, breaking phone boxes etc and finding life? Any different type of enemies planned with different abilities/weapons?

    And if i had to take a guess on the enemies currentl

    @P-O-M haha well i said either/or.. i guess there are only so many possible ways of dealing with layer, kind of hard to re-invent new ones when only so many behavior that has access to layer control. and I know how capable the DBA team is.. but in terms of limitations we all have similar ones. (well i guess they have less because they can possibly create external programs that tinkers with GS file but only to certain extend..)
