Evening GS forum...
I know its not good form and almost modest to announce it's my birthday...but so be it....
ITS MY BIRTHDAY!!
I'm now 30 years old....thats right 30!!!!! ... ahh well...it happens to us all in the end I guess..
Anyway... I wanted to post a comment to say what a cool day I've had.
Woken up by my wife and daughter carrying a few presents and some comedy balloons into the bedroom.
Unwrapped a fancy Digital SLR (Canon 500D)..., plus bag, lenses, camera book and a 1 nights course in London capturing the city lights in cool arty ways.
My mother in law baby sat our daughter for the day...
I then headed into Richmond (near London) and spent the day playing with the new camera, capturing some cool images (and a lot of rubbish ones too).
Had posh lunch over looking the Thames...then headed home, put the photos on my old macbook and through the magic of iCloud the photos soon popped into my new iPad 2 that my work bought for my birthday (and for working nearly 6 years for them).
A day of technology, geekiness and a good few drinks by the river...
Also got a great picture of a squirrel... sunset.... and a duck!!
thats all I have to say really.
Cheers world for a great day...oh and thanks apple and canon you guys helped make for a perfect day....

let me know when your in central london,i know some great spots for photos, houses of parlement on a night look cool and london bridge is another great image.
That's a very nice camera you have now. I was thinking of getting that one when I was DSLR shopping but I went with the Nikon D3100 instead.

My next game will have to utilise the swanky new camera... or maybe I'll take up stock photography as a new sideline and sell it on sites like istock.com
Don't think I actually mentioned I did spend the whole day with my wife whilst enjoying the sites and sounds of Richmond (and my new camera)...so didn't just abandon everyone and spend the day with myself and the new gadgetry... after a days photography, coffee and Guiness... We then got home to a happy hyperactive 2 year old...who'd been fed too much chocolate and was going a little bit whooo!...
Cheers again... Jon aka stormy

30 is great! Now, you can relax because you know the bad you are capable being isn't all that bad … the good you can do and do is Great!
