I think gamesalad is fair to say 499$ but I think if you are going to pay that much you should get to stay pro forever once you buy it, so what do you think :-?

tshirtbooth i respect you alot man but you cant compare photoshop with GS. Photoshop doesnt crash so often, they have tons of functions in it and you get to use your payed version after a year, while GS crashes all the time, limited GUI elements and features and you have to pay 499 again next year :P
I dont want to start a fight here, its just that since yesterday's release i thought about going pro, and 2 min later my GS crashed and lost 15 min of my life for nothing. I mean...how hard is to implement a .bak file for autosave....seriously. I've written 10.000 php/shell/crontab scripts that do 10 times more complicated stuff....
Autosave is the bare minimum req. You know you have a beta app, you know it crashes, you know people lose their work cause of it, and still after 2 years you dont care?
So for now, no i will not give 499$. Its just plain robbery. IF there was a final stable release then yes, i might, its a nice tool with good Pro feature.

My Torque package cost me around 1k said and done. That's expensive (and it's dropped in price since then...grrrr), however my independent license is good for as long as I use it unless I make profits over 100k (or is it 150k?). Then it gets steep year to year.

Gamesalad is FREE!!!. Free to use and publish games to the store. If you are not really making or selling games (or enough of them), you don't need pro. Just like Tshirt booth referenced, all pro apps cost $ to be upgraded (anything worth its weight). Also, Gamesalad needs to make money to pay staff, host this site, research and development, legal....etc.etc. Why would you not give back to the source that is already providing so much. It's like belonging to a guild or going to conferences, there are fees. If there were not Gamesalad would not be where it is today.

Here I am sounding off and I don't have pro. I will get it when and if my gamesalad games make the profit to do so, that's just my goal.

I am new to gamesalad. I am working on a project, really simple for the most part and I have to say I have never used anything that crashes like this in my life
and I am 54 years old. I mean every 5 mins without fail. I am on a new maxed out mac pro. I am not even sure a fully developed app could be finished at this rate.
I also wanted to make sure I was not doing something wrong here so I purchased $200 of sample from tshirtbooth offerings and well even just launching one
of these samples I get to review for about 4-5 minutes it still crashes. I have also email gamesalad 3 times now over 6-8 days and have not got a single reply. I think gamesalad is a wonderful tool but you have to fix all the crashing. I am not here flame gamesalad and only offering my experience over the last 10 days as a new customer.
