    Yeah I read amazon was trying to take credit for the reduction of ipad2 sales but it's only because people are waiting for 3. Silly Amazon..lol

    well, this family decided not to wait … so many kids to pass used ones down to!

    When I got my iPad 2 other than to test my apps my wife was like "how use full can that be" well after I had it for a week I had to keep prying it away from her...lol it's not funny because I don't like sharing my tech. That's why everyone I the house always had their own Mac. Now I'll waiting for 3 so I can have my own iPad. Lol

    Love iBook Author … have done ePub books the hard way and this one makes it so easy! and Apple is giving this app away Free!
    the textbooks are phenomenal! and Apple has a $14.99 price cap on them!

    nothing but wow for iTunes University … now having full courses!

    so think … 48 million iPads might be a too low an estimate!

    iPad3 will be so super! @Fry your wife is going to be so jealous!

    Ah phooee, iBook Author only runs on Lion... (I'm still on Snow Leopard so that my Photoshop + Illustrator CS2 versions hobble on...)...

    Hey gyroscope you could always make a boot drive with snow and then update it lion and run both. You just need an external HArd drive with FireWire

    Nice one, FBS! Yes, I'll do that. I can't remember how to partition the hard drive though... or do you mean SL (+CS2) on the external as a boot drive and Lion on the Mac?

    Hi GLG, plus the other 25 mil. they've already sold!! (although a majority (?) of 48 million projected sales will be upgrades to existing iPad owners, i guess...)

    ah @gyroscope … I was so worried about Gimp not working in Lion … no X-11 support supposedly.
    finally found the quirky way to get Gimp to run … had to download the Leopard version and trash the SnowLeopard one. Weird ???
    that version found the hidden X-11 code! and now inscape and the fontmaker run, also.

    Lion is super to work in!

    Thanks MH, I'm particularly looking forward to the "applications looking like apps" environment thingy, whatever it's called.... i'm going to investigate partitioning with SL and Lion a bit further tomorrow for certain (it's gone half one in the morning here in the UK..) :-) Onwards and upwards, as they say.

    Strange about Gimp and the others, glad you got them running!
