Okay GS Apple just opened up a whole new market. Text book makers and schools will need interactive content so with the HTML widget apple has for their creation tool if we could get a copy of our HTML published files we could market those! Come on make this happen!

I think this is awesome, but I got to wonder what kinds of push back that Education Publishing is going to have on this. They love to charge and arm and a leg for those books and be the only source to obtain then.

Apple brought a lot of the major ones on board it was like you can join in or die..lol. But let's push this for GS to do NOW to be on the curve, let's pile on in this thread! It could help boost indi developers slim income as they could market locally. Come on GS the Arcade is a bust, it can't be that hard plus it's a great pro marketing feature for you.

@RP … Apple put a $14.99 cap on textbooks! (maybe we'll see some of the other iBooks reflect this soon!)

think Education Publishing just got their publishingHouses blown-up … and think the schools are gonna love this!
(some stupid journalist online questioned why Apple announced in January and didn't wait till Sept term started … as if schools buy books in Sept!)

cheaper to buy kids iPads and 7-8 books/year (both items with educational discount) …
than the current textbook allotment of $800/year for students in my school district!

Plus the teachers can freely write their own courses and have all the assignments, tests, resources, links to a chapter in the book …
and student notes right there … in iTunes U!

no more $100 for a textBook … and no more buying the latest edition … iBooks can be so easily up-dated!

Yeah. I think it was high time for those publishing houses to kiss the backsides of those books. ;)
This will do students and teachers worlds of good.
