Help on image size for background and actions in my game

Hi,
What would be the best size for a background image for a landscape iPad game; I mean, I made a 1024x768 px background but when I preview the game I lose some details on upper and lower side of my game. I know I may resize the image to fit perfectly in the preview window but I prefer to know the perfect size of the background and that way I’ll know the size of space I have to put all actors in action.

I’m new to Game Salad so please excuse me if this is a fool question.
:D

    Make your image 1024 pixels x 768 pixels @ 72 ppi.

Thank you Tynan, will everything be visible on a real iPad? I mean the details on the edge of the image (which are not visible when I preview the game in GS).

I can see that when you are making a scene the work space have an inner square area, like a guide I think, should I respect that area to perform all the actions within this specific space?

    Thanks again for your help!

@franken2778 the white outlined boxes in the sceneEditor are the Camera Size (outer) and Tracking Area (inner)

click the little video icon just above the area and you will see that the Tracking Area can be resized by dragging
all cameraAttributes are in Inspector: Scene Attributes and can be modified

took me awhile to figure that one out, also …
I was not making games that the camera had to be active in; the defaults worked just fine!
