Hello. As it`s not everyone who can own a Mac, Have you, gamesalad developers, plans to port gamesalad to Windows Platform? I don`t know how hard this would be for you, but, as there are a lot of other sotfwares that has versions for both system, I guess its not a very hard and time consuming task for you, who are experienced, if you wont need to convert it to another language (I guess this too).

While gamesalad was only publishing to iOS we could understand that it needed xcode on the system, and as it exists only for mac, there was no reason for a Windows version.

But, now, that it publish to Android, I imagine, there are thousands of people who would like to build games for Android, but have no Mac.
So, you could release a Gamesalad version that publishs only for Android and HTML5. I`m sure you would get a lot of clients for Windows.

Even I would also like to have the Windows version.
Despite the fact that I have a Macbook, I still prefer windows. One reason for this is that My PC computer is a lot more powerfull than my macbook.

Another thing that would be interesting also, is a way to publish the games to Windows Phone 7, and Windows 8. I think there appstore can be very interesting in the future.

Windows Phone 7 can even get more users than Android in a near future.

I dont think e need a game salad for windows. The game salad team need to focus on only one version to deliver us the best software.

Just an FYI a GameSalad for Windows option would elimiate your iPhone/iPad options because you have to have a mac to publish and submit iOS games. So to be honest I dont see them going that route for along time. Maybe once HTML5 has been improved on it would be a viable reason to go windows too but until them I just do see the point

windows phone is actually great(I hate to say) so it will be great to publish to win 7 phone

and I hope they don't have gs on windows, that will just bring a bunch of garbage on the android market

Maybe but I have a feeling windows 7 phones are gonna be like android. multiple res/hardware options making developing for them a nightmare with little return. But who knows.

ya but I think the screen size will still be a mass

How much of the market Are Windows's phones it has to be small in comparison. Not worth the return on investment. With Apple and Andriod that has to be 90% of the market already.

Just an FYI it is possible to develop iOS games on Windows, especially if you already have your development certificate set up. There are a few toolsets out there that support this (Flash included)

I see this notion that being on Windows all but eliminates you from developing iOS games, which is just simply not true. It's disingenuous to suggest that it's not possible. At the minimum you need a Mac to intervene only for the initial cert set up and the submission of the game. Cloud virtualization has made that very easy to do for someone who does not own a Mac.

    @Fry … 1.4% Q4 2011 … and that was up 1/10th of a 1% from Q3 … they are growing rapidly :)) … at this rate of growth expect them to reach 1.7% by end of Q4 2012!
(whether or not Microsoft has bought into Nokia or not … it will be competing against Android and not with iPhones)

@tendrmer … I agree and low-end handsets might not even be able to store our work … let alone run it!

citing that iPhones have 30% share of smartphones market … compared to Android's 46% share
is like comparing Apples to oranges or lemons!
iPhone is a handset and an OS … Android is only an OS
and iPhone is all high-end handset … most of Android is low-/middle-end handset

So, if such a comparison was made realistically, with the more valid criteria: by handset manufacturers … there would be no question about what is the biggest/best selling smartphone!

yes growing quite rapidly, i'd say windows 7, android iOS will be the major players in the next fe years, iOS was majority the result of 1 man who was almost to a point the dictator of the operation, thus able to achieve a focus result. With the respected man out of the equation, I know for sure apple is going down hills and you can quite frankly tell from the experience of the newest OSX, it feels like watching a dog with 2 heads trying to separate itself from another, when I first downloaded the OS i know for sure something was happening at Apple, the refined operating system was no more... with that being said, the playing field will be leveled again, with whoever is more resourceful, and MS, Goog, and apple will again be paying at a fairly equal strength here... so if GS has the foresight to see this coming they would be wise to starting to work on windows 7 publishing. Too many times a company becomes too confident in what they are doing (or worst not knowing what they are doing) and end up being phased out rather quickly... Palm/RIM.. etc..

Anyway that's my reasoning behind why I'd like to see GS invest some time in windows 7. Unlike google microsoft does have good track record when it comes to operating system, and fair amount of good censorship and management, and when it comes to mobile eco system, that's the foremost important thing.

Another reason why I think MS and Goog will rise again is because they seem to be hiring the right person to deal with the U/I & U/X and being a software/mobile platform that's another given.

Having owned a windows 7 phone, I can tell you that the market is complete crap (at least what I saw on the phone, I never tried to download apps from my computer). They don't even have a search feature!! You have to scroll through pages and pages of junk...

putting gamesalad on windows may eliminate publishing to apple, but THATS OK! Apple and igadgets are NOT THE ONLY PLACE TO PUBLISH GAMES!

This is not a logical or acceptable answer to the question of "gamesalad on windows"!

I would like to suggest that gamesalad be made available for windows WITH OR WITHOUT THE ABILITY TO PUBLISH TO iOS!

Don't short-change the Android developers just because WE DONT HAVE A MAC!

There are other alternatives to GameSalad for Windows, you could try Stencyl, or Gamemaker, or one of the others. GameSalad has no plans for a windows version as far as we know, they work and develop in a Mac oriented environment, and have a working relationship with Apple. And coming out with a Windows version would possibly take away resources they have for making the program better for us Mac users that have been with GameSalad for some time now, and have been waiting patiently for all the new features they are pushing out the door. GameSalads original MO was for publishing games to iOS, and to do that, you have to use a Mac, regardless.

    No offense to Windows users.

Personally I work on a Hackintosh now. Not because I don't own a Mac, but because I am more comfortable using the Windows environments. I used a macbook & iMac for years, but I've been using Windows since Windows 3.1. So programs like Photoshop & Illustrator or any other multi-platform program I work with are easier for me in Windows. With that being said I personally would love a development version of GS to hit Windows, even if you have to connect to a Mac in order to actually Publish. It would just make it easier for people like me who have used Windows so long & are more comfortable with it.
