Does having a "lite" version of your game boost sales a little?

Hey guys,

Penguin Pounce is doing terrible (I think) since it's release. I have only made around $60 (after Apples cut) from it.
I was going to make a lite version of the app so that people can try it and then get hooked.

The title says it all - Does having a "lite" version of your game boost sales a little?
I am going to give them 15 levels. Some from the beginning, and some from the middle of the game where the TNT is used.
Any experience with your own lite version?

Thanks all,
Bray

It works alright, I can say from personal experience from other types of apps. However, ever since apple introduced In App Purchases they've become more restrictive about letting you release a separate "lite" version simply to link to a full version, so you might have to use the new In App Purchase feature of GS Pro 0.9.90.

Out of curiosity, how long has your app been on the app store?

Yeh a light version will get your game out there more and a few may convert into full game sales but it aint gonna give you a huge boost ... well from my experience anyway

It will help if….. You have a really good game. The lite version is a double edged sword. If the game is Super Awesome people will be dying for more. But if its so so. then they will enjoy what is free and move on.

@RKS - Yes indeed. I was just wondering if it was worth it.

I've only been getting around 2 sales a day as is for Penguin Pounce - hopefully this will boost it by a little.
