I am developping a game very similar to another one. My objective is to be as good as the original game, but ofcourse I will use other name, graphics and sounds. Would this be a copyright infringment?

    Depends ,
Its a gray area , i guess if it will be too similar to the original one then you might be infringement copyrights ..
Like Ace use to say , if you need to ask if its illegal or nor , it probably is .

Why not try make something unique instead of cloning a game ?

you cant really copyright gameplay - i mean how many platform style games have you seen?

out of curiosity, which game were you thinking of cloning?

It fine to use another's style as a guide to developing your own but if you're just going to exactly copy it like a blueprint why bother making games. A really creative person seek to express themselves not channel someone else.
