Hi @guizanchett, more than likely you've an overall background image covering it in your other folder which is on a higher level than your HUD stuff....

Just go into Scene > Layers and drag your HUD folder to the top. :-)

It's already on the top, that's why I'm kinda lost!

Hmm, that's odd, unless you mean the HUD stuff in on the top within the same folder...

You have got a separate folder called HUD or whatever you want, haven't you? If you have, the only other thing that can be happening is that your HUD actors are in the wrong folder...

Make sure the HUD is in the lower left corner of your scene.

Hi @Mr.ph, for the record, elements of your HUD can be placed anywhere you like on the screen.

    @guizanchett
The HUD is not disappearing , its probably just outside the "unscrollable view" ,
If its an iPhone app , you HUD must be inside the 480x320 area , if its an iPad game so your HUD must be inside the 1024x786 area!

Make sure your HUD actors are in the "unscrollable zone"

    Like i said,
If its an iPhone app , you HUD must be inside the 480x320 area , if its an iPad game so your HUD must be inside the 1024x786 area!
your "hud" actor (the black square) is out of that area!
Put his values to X=50 , Y=50 and you'll see it in the preview .

Does this actor changes his X and Y value with a "change attribute" rule ?

Off course it will work ! thats what i was trying to tell you , Put his values to X=50 , Y=50 meaning putting him on the bottom left corner .
Your actor must be inside of the "unscrollable area"

Its a bit old from "weswog" but it explains the concept

You're telling me that my HUD will just work, if my camera is placed at the bottom left of the screen? @gyroscope can you give us your opinion too?

I promise you that @gyroscope 's opinion will be exactly as mine , cause there is only 1 way to make this .
(it was a bit insulting i must add)
Would you please take a look at this example i just made you :
    http://www.mediafire.com/?cbd9rgmh1ltsc9r
    It has 2 scenes ,
    1) How to make a HUD.
    2)How NOT to make a hud .

Preview them to see the differences .

Hey Roy, sorry, wasn't my intention to insult you. In fact I'm really glad you're trying to help me, the reason I've asked gyroscope's opinion, is because i thought I wasn't understanding what you were saying and he could help to explain. Now I understood that the actors should be on the bottom, even if the camera isn't! Thanks very much, and again sorry if you felt insulted, wasn't my intention at all!

HUD has to be in: Inspector > Scene > Layers > new layer
That layer has to have its Scrollable unchecked … so it is "Unscrollable"
drag your newLayer above the other layers so it is at the top of the list … as you add more layers, make sure they are below the HUD

to change the name of the layer … click on the name … and the [return] key … and type

an Actor or Layer at the bottom of any list is loaded first and displays beneath all other actors/layers

you can change an individual actor's placement within a layer
-right click on the actorInstance in sceneEditor and select Send To: Front; Back; Forward; Backwards

But, you can only change the the Layer order in Scene Layers

to debug what is happening to your controlActor in the toolBar Preview
-change the other actors' Alphas to 0.5
    -preview in the sceneEditor
so you can see where it is in relationship to the camera

having a camera originY that is not 0 … always, in my experience, squirrels the actor's positionY on the unscrollable layers
the actors in an unscrollable layers reference their positionX,Y to the displaySize … and not the camera origin
which is only logical … as that layer does not relate to a moving camera's positionY
though the camera originX ≠ 0 … doesNot affect unscrollable layers

@guizanchett … suggest you set your Camera OriginY To: 0
