Long rolling floor for a platform game....

Hello guys, please excuse my ignorance I'm a green horn!! I'm trying to develop a platform game with 1 floor, exactly like Mario, I was going to make 1 floor, but I'm in a pickle with what to do? I was going to do 1 long .png floor at 9000 pixels long at 72dpi, but it's "too much for game salad" how do I go about doing this the correct way? A shorter looped floor???

Thanks for any help you guys can give me?

    perhaps breaking them down to smaller levels (aka scenes)

    You can have a scene at any size you want. Your problem is going to be the images. They can't be larger than 1024 X 1024. If they are, you need to break them up into segments. And if it's going to be a continuos ground that looks the same, you can just have one image, and set it's properties to "tile" across the screen when you drag it out bigger. It just repeats itself instead of stretching.
