I opened up gamesalad today after doing a bunch of work last night and gamesalad lost half of my images!!! all of the images show up as blank pages in the project library, and even worse, it won't let me add in those images again! I will drag and drop that same image into my project to replace it but it doesn't show up. Somebody please help because I literally just lost half of my project.

Did you tried use Save As?

Yes, I always use save as. But I need a way to replace these images that I lost. Gamesalad Won't recognize the images I add to my project.

I had this problem once using Save As, now I just use Save and make a backup of file using Finder manually. Im fixed this problem adding the images again to project.

yea, i finally got it to add images again....I have so much code that I made changing images and stuff, Now I have to go back and RE-Code everything! Gamesalad is great, but boy can it tick you off at times.

Hi @steeler0038, if that ever happens again (which I hope it won't for you) an easier way, which will preserve your rules, would be to drag your missing images onto your Actor prototypes in the Inspector. This way your Rules are still there + the image is added into the Images Library automatically.

I've had this happen before, though I thought I'd accidentally deleted the images myself.

@gyroscope, I suspect what happened is that his actors use "change image to" behaviours which reference the images, which now have missing entries because those images are gone. Therefore, he has to go back through and manually add them all again.

I suspect the thing to learn from this is regular backups. As mmzbr says, manually backing up files is generally the safest method of backup and I generally do this every couple of days, though more often might be more useful depending on how much you get done in a day!

Hi coojam, yes, I see your point if that's what happened; a pain either way. Back-up is so important, you're right, and making new versions of the project as you go but I'm sure you know that (I'm up to version 21 in my app I'm putting together at the moment) :-)
