PLEASE BE HONEST : Is this a good enough icon

I tryed my best... I tryed to make it clean and like a glass effect or anything to make it more cleaner but i got no luck...im using pixelmator, so please let me know what youd think!

    tsb i think he changed his profile icon to show what he is asking about
    and yeah i like it, but i would mage the garden a different color to make the car pop more

    like orange, blue and orange are complimentary colors, and it might look like the sun set

    Appreciate what @tshirtbooth is saying but a little help may be needed. I always give it the squint test. Squint your eyes and look at it. If the colours blend into each other, than as an icon, it probably won't be suitable.

    In your case the greens, blacks and blues are too similar. And probably too detailed a drawing for an icon of that style. See what a red earth ground will look like, remove the hard edged shadow from below, so we can clearly see the tyres. And make the sheen streaks on the windshield white.

    That's what I'd do.

    Make the car bigger - make it fill the space, you have too much empty space in the image.
    When you scale the car up it will make the features bigger and this is easier to see at icon size.
    The two black rectangles under the bumper are confusing...make them look like tires (tyres)..like wheels otherwise it looks too abstract to be a car.

    You are playing with perspective and foreshortening in this image...risky to do but it can work if done well....

    @tshirtbooth. I feel ya people say they want an honest answer but they never really do. To have your stuff be truly great, one does need honest feedback, one just has to be willing to put down their ego and accept the possibility that their work might not be good. That should not discourage one but only make one work harder. Just watch five minutes of American Idol, someone needed to tell those people they sucked before the whole world does when they embarrass themselves on National TV!

    I would ask yourself what you want the icon for? What is it supposed to do? Is it just for here on the forum or part of selling yourself and your apps and presenting in the best light possible. Does it have to indicate what type of games you are making or something about your style that people can latch onto? Does it read as a small image? does it work big? WIll it stand out on the store if you are using it there? Can you use it as a logo within apps? Will it work within a border or shape as required by Apple? Should you use it on every occasion possible so you start to build up recognition? Does a car have much to do with any of this? It might do. It might be something that represents an icon that you and your audience love and aspire to. I don't know, but I do think there is a lack of clear and good design in the basic image, and I wouldn't be intrigued or encouraged towards your apps by what I currently see. But that fact you ask is encouraging and shows you are thinking. Work on it and look about. Take in all you can while your trying to design a new one and I really wish you luck. Kipper

    p.s. my icon/avatar is not for use to sell my apps but does sort of represent me well enough for here (miserable old curmudgeon with thoughts of death creeping up with time).

    DBA has an icon creator which can help boost yours.
    It costs a few bucks but it's well worth it.

    THANK YOU FOR ALL THE HONEST OPINIONS AND IDEAS TO HELP ME OUT. This is my first time using Game Salad and for my artwork i'm using Pixelmator. @LycetteBros Thank you for the valuable information and for having courage in me. Obviously your way more advanced than i am because you made that car in 5 minutes and i made this in 2 hours... But thank you very much for taking the time to do that. @Old_Kipper Thank you, and yes... I will be publishing this game on the app store. @ozboybrian and @UtopianGames thanks for trying!
    Without you guys my app probably would of been one of the worst but I will be working on it to make it as great as I can

    But I haven't seen any bugs or anything and I assume we still have the rights of use to it.

I REALY appreciate your offer also, I don't know one person on Game Salad that has the courage in others, helps to offer make artwork for them, and give them thumbs up on their responses.
