just got an email from them about the audio issue... no need to read it all, what it says is: the audio does not frigging stop no matter what you do unless you put a hammer to it =)

when will new version come out that fix this issue? (p.s. i do need the loop )

There were some issues with your application: issue#1 - If the user navigates away from the application by pressing the device Home key the application audio can still be heard on the device Home screen. Steps to reproduce: 1. Launch the application 2. Select any of the button 3. Notice the user will hear a repeating tone 4. Press the device Home key 5. Notice while the user is on the device Home screen the application audio is still generated from the background --- issue#2 - If the user receives an incoming voice call while the application is running, the application audio can be heard during the voice call. Steps to reproduce: 1. Launch the application 2. Select any of the button 3. Notice the user will hear a repeating audio 4. Receive an incoming voice call 5. Answer the incoming voice call 6. Notice the tone continues to play during the voice call ---issue#3 - If the user opens the device camera while the application is running, the application audio can still be heard. Steps to reproduce: 1. Start and Exit device camera 2. Launch the application 3. Select any of the button 4. Notice the user will hear a repeating tone 5. Press and hold 'Home' key 6. Select camera 7. Notice the tone continues to play while the camera is open ---issue#4 - If the user sends an email from within the application, the user is returned to what appears to be the main menu screen. When the user touches the screen the application plays audio as though the button were still present. Steps to reproduce: 1. Launch the application 2. Select the icon; in the lower right corner 3. Select 'Feedback@' 4. Send an email 5. Notice after the e-mail is sent the user is returned to what appears to be the main menu screen 6. Select the middle of the blank screen 7. Notice the application plays audio ---Device and OS tested on:HTC Incredible/OS 2.2.3

I have several apps waiting to upload after the fix, I can't force myself to not include music since it's such a big part of the game experience. Maybe GS can extend our memberships for the time we had to wait, or stop listing it as a Pro feature since it is still broken.

yes, i wonder if they ever put that extra 2 month they promised. haven't heard about it ever since.

Wow , they really do hate you !
So i believe that my current apps that are waiting for review on amazon will probably be rejected also, after all its only natural that all of GS games will have this problem right?
So we have a sound delay , and now this , oh dear ...

    Roy.

probably not, i have sound in my other games and they are accepted, this one just uses loop extensively so i can have a smaller file size.

I just got mine approved. I created some workarounds. I'm going to do a video tommorow.

@FryingBackonStudios - For the sound delay or the music bug?

@ultima - does this happen for Android Phones or for the Fire?

The sound delay is down to less than a second and the music bug yes and the run on sound too. Like I said I got my app approved first time. I did a four part series of videos today on Android publishing from making a key to publishing out of gamesald which addresses screen size to publishing on android store and amazon. http://gleesongroupmedia.com/gsguide/gsguide.html

@Braydon_SFX for android phones it seems like... amazon did the test..

@P-O-M lol... it's great, i love how i've "hired" a team of competent testers for my android releases... perhaps some one or some company not naming names that starts with a G can send their builds to amazon for testing haha.. i'm just teasing.

    @ultima - Roger that.

@FryingBaconStudios - so does your approved app have a soundFX delay?

the sound delay seems to be bearable unless you play them in a series (like T-shirt-booth's video) with the 3 stars... ding ding ding ... and you'll notice the 2nd and the third lagging behind and it gets worst the more you add to the series... on a click per sound/action per (with some rest in between) basis, the audio engine seems to be handing it ok.

looking forwards to what Mr. Bacon have in store for us, as i said before people have cleaver ways of working around things and i'm sure if there's a will there's a way ...

Since in Penguin Pounce you need to destroy Snow Blocks, It sounds terrible. It's about a second delay. Maybe less.
I am releasing the Free version with no SoundFX. When GS (Finally) fixes this issue, Ill update the free version and upload the full game.

As ultimate said my app doesn't use consecutive sounds like that and music files have no delay. Most sounds only have about a .4 second delay almost unnoticeable. So basically you can use a mix of music files and sounds. So if you have effects you know will never overlap you can use them as a music file. So if you had the three star thing and it happens at the end of a level make it a music file. And since once music starts on a scene a plays the whole time, I make it a sound as there is only minimum delay when it starts. You just have to do a bit of planning when you work with you files. There are other tricks too like using a timer to loop a sound or music file so it quits when you back out of the app.

ah timer... brilliant. i'll give that a try.

and yes hope they fix the issue soon... i spend a full 2 month working 16 hours a day 6 days a week... and now i can't publish to amazon... if i don't have other income source i'd be pretty pissed at GS "again" but... I won't go there as I know they are probably working their tails off to fix the issue and making other major improvements such as native code transcribing.. so i'll be patient with them this time. =)

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I'd also be on the look out for 'Sticky Buttons'. Those I haven't found a workaround for.

The game I currently have in the Amazon store, MegaRunner, suffers from them greatly. I have not had a game session that hasn't ended because of the roll button being stuck, or the jump button not firing any more. As the player, it's frustrating. The same game performs flawlessly on the iOS devices (and even HTML5).

I'm in much the same boat. if I can't earn enough to pay for a renewal, I can't renew. I like being patient, but with my livelihood on the line I'm getting a little less patient, and a lot more stressed.

I made MegaRunner in two weeks to test the market solely because I've read about the issues in the forums. I have a much more important game, which I've spent a number of months on, that I'd like to release soon. Now, I can release it with the engine in its current form and roll the dice, but negative reviews add up quick and can easily sink a lot of hard work.

I've never experienced the stick buttons in all my testing. We've tested on the kindle fire as well as the Samsung galexy tab

@SSS Do you have a window of when that might be? Days, weeks, months? Just pick one, lol

    ...waiting....waiting.....

The new BETA must be close now. I just want to publish to Android without buggering around with music/sound workarounds - the inefficiency of version based workarounds drives me nuts.

"Patience" should be one of the watchwords of GameSalad.
