Laser?

Hey guys, how do you get a laser to come out of something? I want it to be a straight line. I don't want it like a laser gun that shoots but a straight laser that comes out of an object and destroys stuff.

One idea would be to spawn a rectangular "laser" image from the object and then, much like a health bar, have the spawned image quickly grow in size the entire width of the scene.

Thank you but I'm having a serious problem. Nothing comes out when I go to shoot. I have my guy spawning the laser and under the laser I have a move on there at 0 degrees and nothing happens.

I got my laser to shoot now, but I want it to be straight line of laser beam coming out. How can I do this?

Try using the replicate behavior. Play with the spacing (1 pixel should do it). If you replicate it 3 times, it'll be 3 times the length, and so forth.

Okay that worked but how can I hold the button down to keep it shooting? Sorry, I'm such a noob but i am learning Also is there anyway to make it when I stop shooting the laser stops immediately and doesn't keep going till it's off the screen?
