When is it safe to share an idea?

I have a game I really want to share with you all.

BUT! It's in it's early days. And from what I hear, good ideas are hard to come up with.
So no offence but I don't want anyone with more time, knowledge or budget to jump ahead of me.
(that's right lurkers, I know you're there)

When is it safe to share info? I'd really love some help from some Sous Chefs and suggestions for my games in a nice fat juicy fun thread.
But I don't wanna screw myself over.

Share when you feel comfortable, when you feel you have achieved enough on that project that no-one will get it to release before you. Some of my games i leave to th last minute to do my reveal, others like Star Serum, i revealed back in September.
The fact is, if you're game idea is that good, it will be copied at some point ... whether it be from GS or outside on release.

True to that! When I feel comfortable setting a release date with Apple, I will share it publicly

I would get a Sous network going on Skype, but I get carried away talking about stuff and DRIVE the ones crazy I have already I think lol.
It's good to have a yack with friends though who are making games Got a few people I trust very well.

But excited about this one a lot. Especially with the art. It just keeps getting better and better.

Ow I have so manny stuff I don't share for that reason. I hate these lurkers.
It is not good for my games either because sharing thoughts make the game a lot better with all the great responds here.

Totally agree Ludwig. I've had someone jump ahead of one of my ideas. It's pretty low.
The forums are great for ideas though! Yet, it's why I started the Skype add me thread

There's probably at least 3 people I trust 100% (That doesn't mean I don't trust others)
