Is there a way to remove individual art from one big piece of art sheet?

I found some art to make my games but it's alot of different things in one big sheet of png.
Is there a easy way to break it down to individual items?

    It depends on the program if you have this feature or what they call it, but in illustrator theres somethign called the slice tool, where you make slices around each part and it saves them all as individual images.

    There is a tool for that on Photoshop also. You can find it in the "Crop tool" section. Choose the "Slice tool" and slice the image as you wish. Select again "Slice select tool" and rename the pieces accordingly. Then press cmd+alt+shitf+S to "Save for web and devices"

    @GLGames … don't want you to be in trouble further down the line …

    any ArtWork is copyrighted in its entirety and in its individual visible elements …
    selecting smaller areas, containing a visible item, to use as your own, is infringement same as using the whole work …
    (same with music … using fragments of audio … is infringement)

    ===
    uploading a game containing such items … violates your Apple developer TOS

    and in Section 12 of your Game Salad TOS:
    You represent and warrant that each Submission is your own original creation, and/or that you have, or have obtained, all necessary permissions, rights, licenses, consents, and clearances …
    and that term 'rights" is directly related to copyright

    ===
    if you can not find the images for your items with free commercial rights … draw your own … or take a picture with your device and work from that.
    or pay someone to do them … or buy an art pack … or contact the artist and ask for permission (their fees may be lower than you think!)

    you will eventually want to make money from selling the products of your hard work and talents … other creative people should also make money!

    yes i understand, what i mean is the art is free as cc0 just that it's one whole sheet of different elements, i just need something to break it up .
    sorry for not being clear enough :P

    okay! that is good news!

    easiest way is select an area (use rectangle, circle, lasso points) copy that to clipboard … open newImage and paste there
    add a transparent layer and move that down in the list
    Save this one as a backup and then in a copy

    work on your item … magic wand to remove bits and pieces you don't want … though often one has to do lots erasures
    magnify your work space … so you can get in close
    the more times you do these things; the better you will get at it

    keep saving your work and copies of your work
    when it looks good export as a png and try it in GS

    Now, don't get discouraged; getting the first one right might take you a couple of hours … so try to select the most square item from the original to start with!
