How many people here make a living off their games/apps

I know there are tons of people using GS as a hobby, but I also know there are several people who do it as a full time job. I'm kinda curious to see how many people fit into that category.

Also, if you don't mind me asking, are you making a good amount of money? I don't really care if it's an exact figure (because that's none of my business), but I'd be interested to know if you're making more than you did at whatever your old job was.

I'm really jealous of the people who do this as a job haha

Lots of people here make a living off of GameSalad. I'm one of them. Well, GameSalad, Garageband and Final Cut Pro. I make enough to pay my insurance on my truck, and my school note that's been haunting me for over 10 years, but thats about it. I'm lucky enough in life that I don't have to have a real job anymore, but I just get by, and that lets me pursue my real love in life, which is games. Playing them, and making them.

Some here do very well, and some are forced into calling it a hobby. Depends on the quality of games you make, and how lucky you get on the app store.

I'm getting there, I've only had my apps on the app store for about a month and a half..so it too early to tell.. I also make some money composing. I can tell it's pretty hard at first but if you want to create an income you have to release a lot of apps. Its 24/7. I think now with the amazon market it could be an option but you have to bust your butt

release a lot of *quality* apps. if you just release garbage to get "rich quick" this isn't gonna work, and it will tarnish your name on the appstore. take your time, build it with PASSION, and you will see how you will succeed :)
