Best way to create a Minefield

Hello guys

I want to create a minefield game.

What's the quickest way to plot mines in a portrait screen, say in a Grid system of 8 x 16?

    you mean like minesweeper or like a game where a character has to avoid mines? U need to be specific!

    My character will start on a safe place at the bottom of the screen and has to travel across the screen get to the top of the screen.

    I've created a random place on the whole screen using the random function but sometimes the mine gets another one place close so it overlaps... The mine is 32 x32.

    How do I get it so the random doesn't place another one in the same spot but then if it does it tries again to place a random mine in another location on the screen.

    Any clues?

    Theres quite alot of ways you could do this. I made a quick template for you with the function. Just preview it and keep hitting the reset button. You'll see that everytime it generates the mines they're in different locations. Link below
