That's probably reasonable to control where your codes go, but you shouldn't imply that everyone else here is not friendly and/or helpful.

    Good luck with your game.

No... I'm not implying that at all :)

There's a great community here... but just posting up the codes makes it's a matter of speed in getting to them... and people could waste time entering used codes. That idea seemed less desirable.

You can give my code to someone else - I just bought the game with real money.

Mainly because I like the idea.

It's certainly nicely presented, and it's different! Nice one!

I think the controls could use a little work, mind. And I never got to the end goal - is there one?

    Anyway, nice one!

I fought with the controls for a long time. I love how the turret works, but I'm not happy with ship movement. It plays great from a computer. I tried an on-screen joystick, but I wasn't happy with the results. The top-down view seemed the most consistent.

The game keeps going, but basically there are 10 levels and one bonus level. The bonus level is more rocks. HA HA.

    Level 1 - 0 Points
    Level 2 - 1000 Points --- Regeneration
    Level 3 - 2000 Points --- Faster Turret
    Level 4 - 4000 Points --- Better Gun
    Level 5 - 8000 Points --- Faster Shooting
    Level 6 - 16000 Points -- More Thrust
    Level 7 - 32000 Points -- No Regeneration
    Level 8 - 64000 Points -- Regeneration Restored
    Level 9 - 128000 Points - We're almost clear.
    Level 10 - 256000 Points - Win
    Bonus level - 512000 Points

design219 ...do you want the code that was reserved for quantumsheep?

Thanks for buying the game quantumsheep. :)

No thanks, I also bought. I haven't played yet, but it looks like a good one. I'll review this evening.

Hi rebump, I sent a promo code to you! :)
  • PhoticsPhotics Member Posts: 4,172
Very frustrating... there seems to be something wrong with the Release Date listing in the App store. It looks like it's stuck at 2/24/2010.

Hey Photics, you up for some constructive criticism? ;)

    The good:
    Love the idea!
Good graphics (especially the huge engine flames)

    The main course:
The controls are crying out for some dual stick action!

    That's it so far! :)

    Hi quantumsheep!

I'm probably going to convert it to a dual-controller and optimize the game for better load times.
  • rebumprebump Member Posts: 1,058
@Photics: Cool, will look for the code when I get home tonight!

    Sounds good, Photics!

Controls can make or break a game - they're the interface between the player and your game!

Look forward to what you have in store ;)

OK, so I battled with GameSalad for about two days to get dual-joysticks into my game. I don't like it though. Here are some issues...

    1) It takes up a lot of space on the screen. I switched to portrait to make it less distracting. It feels more comfortable to hold the game this way, but about 1/4 of the screen is now covered by thumbs.

    2) It's not as responsive. I went over the math again and again. I thought I might have missed something with the five different touch points. I don't think this is it though. I think it's a performance issue. It seems the controls get confused when the frame rates dip.

I think I'm going to have to wait for Gendai Games to update GameSalad. Maybe they can improve performance again.

I read another thread here about sound files. Maybe I should switch from .ogg to something better suited for my game.

The update to Photics: Revisions - Course Correction (PR-CC) was released today. I think the new version is a significant improvement.

-- Substantially improved loading time (Sounds files switched to.caf instead of .ogg)
-- Auto Rotational support for all orientations
    -- Enabled large thruster sound
    -- Dual Controllers

It's also been released for the iPad.
