Hi everyone who is a good website developer?

I really need to start working on my website, and I am getting bored of making $0.99 a fortnight from the apps, so I am trying to add payment options to my site.

I obviously don't expect anyone do it free, I am willing to pay or help anyone with Xcode development, graphics etc.

Custom payment systems aren't easy or cheap. I don't think anyone will trade you for it...nor do I think you want that. You are dealing with merchant accounts, business tax IDs, SSNs etc.

Go to a "boxed" solution if you can.

Paypal is also a good options for newbies or small sites...especially when dealing with small transactions.

    Will do, thank you synthesis.

Google Checkout is a good one too!

Yes that is what I am trying to do, use paypal, but for iWeb I cant create a login option. :/

I haven't ever done it...You will have to read up.
I am sure there is tons of info about how to get paid via paypal on the web.

I don't know what iWeb is.

Most probably, Is there any good WYSIWYG apps for mac? Or any other web builders?

    Hmm just checked with PayPal,

    Pricing
    £20.00 GBP monthly fee
    No set-up fees
    No cancellation fees
    UK Pro Pricing
    Transaction fees
    1.9% to 3.4% + £0.20 GBP†

†Rate dependent on monthly sales volume

Thats Just like the game salad thing with the iPhone membership.

    take a look at getafreelancer.com

post what your after for a few $ or £, think its £5 but you get some of that back.

You will get lots of bidders on the project, you can ask them questions then choose who you want....I used it 3 times for work on my old website, some bargains to be had.

Otherwise look into Joomla, fairly easy web creation, you can get lots of free and paid add ons for your joomla site, lots of ecommerce solutions. small learning curve.

Or simply get people to pay you via paypal just to your account, no £20 fee, and once you've got payment forward on a link to a downloads page.

I am a free lance web developer and work full time at an eCommerce company. Hit me up on MSN or email me at jon at jon2s dot com. I'll give you some ideas on what you can do depending on what all you are wanting to do now and in the future.

Everything costs money I'm afraid...if you can't afford basic banking fees...then you probably don't have enough volume sales to mess with establishing online transaction capabilities.

That's the cost of doing "business".

    I would go to http://themeforest.net/

They have hundreds of wordpress and website templates to purchase, and they usually only cost around 12$

Most of them are extremely elegant and beautiful.

All the sites usually have perfect cross-browser html, javascript, and css.

    Something to consider anyway...

Thanks for all of you help guys.

@draper3000 Ill look at that site you said as well.

Or if you want to stick with iWeb you can add non iWeb script later using Dashcode (an xCode app) just google for it and copy and paste it. That's how I add Google scripts to my iWeb made sites.
  • iDeveloperziDeveloperz Member Posts: 1,169
Oh cool I never knew you could do that with dashcode.

    Ill give it a go.
  • iDeveloperziDeveloperz Member Posts: 1,169
Ok, so I started to use dashcode but, It is rather all new to me.

I have uploaded a Screen shot on my server. (Im not very good at it)

At the moment I am trying to make a sign in page. http://public.me.com/ideveloperz

if you're comfortable coding all by hand, you could try 'eclipse' or 'aptana' for your IDE instead of dashcode.

I prefer dreamweaver cuz it gives me a wysiwyg and it has several plugins, and then, you could download the free api plugin from paypal from this site: http://www.webassist.com/free-downloads/dreamweaver-extensions/paypal-ecommerce-toolkit/
(they also have a full blown $$$ ecommerce template in php).

I like this stuff cuz it's like GS...just a matter of drag and drop with minimum config...good luck!

if you prefer, you could get dreamweaver over dashcode and buy some ecommerce template or get the free plugin for paypal api plugin from this site: http://www.webassist.com/free-downloads/dreamweaver-extensions/paypal-ecommerce-toolkit/
this particular site has a full blown ecommerce kit with everything you need to be up and running, all coded with php, I believe.

I like things with wysiwyg...just like GS...just a matter of drag and drop with minimum config to be up and running.

    cheers!

-EDIT: Hmm that one did but I posted 2 before this and they have not shown up.
  • synthesissynthesis Member Posts: 1,693
You probably need to go to a mac website development forum board.
This is game salad and you probably won't find much help here on website design.

I sure you will get more detailed help on a webDev forum.
  • iDeveloperziDeveloperz Member Posts: 1,169
    Yes will do.

    Cheers guys.
