Just curious whether there's a development in place or GS would never gonna be in 3D?

I see it extremely unlikely. Make them first concentrate all efforts on making their 2D engine fully functional.

no i don't think gamesalad will add 3D ant time soon, it is still not a stable engine even in 2D

3D probably now, but I sure hope they will add Z axis.

Considering there a lot of easy to use workarounds to achieve a"fake 3D" game in GameSalad, I would much rather see them perfecting every aspect of their 2D engine and software before exploring 3D stuff yet. Just my two cents.

Yeah, I would love to see a draw order added so actors overlapping each other will render correctly. Right now its virtually impossible to do a side scroller with any depth when it comes to enemies without using a cumbersome workaround. And even with the workaround its very limiting.

and the performance will be another big problem, GS is laggy even with 2D, so a long way b4 we can see the Z axis

No, that's not what I was talking about. That solves part of the problem, but if you want to make a game where actors pass in front or behind other actors it's incredibly difficult once you have more than a couple of actors to manage. Hopefully they will add a way to do this in the near future.

    Complete engine rework AGAIN.
If it does happen it won't be for at least a couple years i'd say.
Especially when they're still in beta on the current version of Gamesalad.
