Working with Resolution independence
OKay, so since all my Apps I've produced are Ipad apps, How do I work with retina display. I rarely use a full size image one that covers the entire area of the screen. Would I change the scene size to the higher retina resolution or does it stay at the normal 480X320? Would some be so kind as to give a cliff notes explanation of it all.

Then just import images that are 960x640 and tick resolution independence. That's it.
You tick the RI tick box.
Design your art double what it would be for non-retina.
A background that takes up the whole screen estate is 480 x 320, so the RI art needs to be 960 x 320.
When you import into GS, it automatically halves the size for you. So you drag in your 960 x 640 art and GS automatically makes the actor 480 x 320.
Make sure all art when divided by 2 end on an even number. e.g. 80 x 20 = 40 x 10 .... 87 x 20 = 43.5 x 10 - GS will blur the image.
When published, it creates a new set of images at half the size, if its a retina phone it uses the large images, if not it uses the smaller set to save RAM.
Pretty much all there is to it in a nutshell.
A lot of people design this way and then just convert the retina iPhone version to iPad dimensions and use that as there isn't much in it.
EDIT: Seems I'm a little slower than HTS
