Hi everyone

I have an actor that when he jumps on a spring, i want some particles to appear beneath my actor. To be specific, i would like the particles to be a mixture of different sizes and colours. (my player actor is quite tiny width 22, height 28 to be exact)
When my player jumps on a spring, i change the velocity.y = 700.
I have tried doing this myself, but I'm terrible with particles :(

HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED

Dan

When your player jumps .. in your jump rule add below it a particles rule, very simple.
If you don't know how to use the particle behavior.. The CookBook has a great video about it :

Yuck the number of things you have to adjust in particles … Wow! the beautiful things you can make happen

finally found what I used to learn some tricks with particles (in addition to TSB's great video):

Deep Blue Apps — Resource Center Particle Demonstration
it is Free in the Free/Lite version … copy and play with that one … and have fun getting some effects you might use

also, you can set your actor's image as the image … nice effect!

I love the particles. The gs ones can get a bit complex and though it would be great to have them spawn behind objects and be able to have non rectangular objects they are great. Below is perhaps a big heavy on usage but it runs really well on ipad.

Cheers @motherhoose The music is an arrangement of a Moby track. I loved it when I heard it and set all the graphics timing to it. WIth a bit of luck and a following wind I might just get it done for this Xmas (12 more screens and a lot more animation).
