I was wondering what would be the best device to use when making my video game. I have been told that using a macbook would be the best option. I just wanted a view helpful tips, on what would be the best device to go with.

any intel core2duo machine with 4+ GB of ram will work fine. I'd get a refub mac mini for $500 or so and then spent some money on test devices. If you get an iPad1 for a few hundred you can be sure anything you build will run great on ALL iPads.

Hardware is all about your needs and what fits your situation the best. My advice to you is to pick your ideal atmosphere (where you feel most productive) and then go from there.

If you find yourself on the go a lot; a notebook might work for you. If not, an iMac is probably a better solution. Screen real estate = productivity (for me anyhow).

I wouldn’t buy anything less than a quad core at this point (personally). If that’s not necessarily in your budget then by all means check craig’s list for some deals or something. Apple consumers are usually focused on the newest shiny bits… even if they have like 2 year old processor technology (insert irony here)… so I’m sure you can find some deals on used tech if you spend a little time researching.
