Gamesalad restrictions after subscription ends - still relevant?

Hi All,

I've been investigating various iOS game makers and think GameSalad is the one for me, but came across this, and various other articles from 2010 where various terms had changed meaning that once you've made and submitted your game/s through GameSalad you are kind of forced to keep up your subscription for as long as you might want to update your game: http://toucharcade.com/2010/10/18/gamesalad/

Did these changes go through and are they still in place or did they change this more recently than these article?

thanks!

Well you always have the free option , but if you want to use the pro features , so yes , you need to renew your subscription every time it expires if you want to publish new games or updates .

thanks =) what if I have made and published a game through Gamesalad, but don't intend to make any further games or update the one I've published, do I still need to maintain a subscription in order to maintain my account and collect any revenue from Apple, etc? or is the agreement I make

No , once your game is on the store , Gamesalad has nothing to do with your sales revenue (unless your using the KIIP or Playheaven features !!!)
So basically you don't have to renew your Gamesalad subscription , only IOS dev subscription .
Yet again , you will be able to publish with the free account , or renew your pro account to get the pro features .

OK, was just thinking that... the agreement and certificate I have to use from Apple (after deve subscription), within GameSalad is totally separate to GS then. that's cool. And to confirm GS take no profit share from any part of your revenue, just the subscription? KIIP or Playheaven take 30% of any revenue gained from their APIs I think I read, but that sounds fair as it's 30% of something you've just bolted on allowing more revenue for the developer too.

Right , GS takes no revenue from your sales in the appstore .

As of the kiip and play heaven :
GameSalad does NOT take any portion of the developer rev share !!!

Sorry, one last thing - how easy is it to preview your work-in-progress on the iOS devices with GS, is there a direct path to export an IPA and get it installed on associated devices, or is it a bit more complex? Sorry I'm sure there are loads of tutorials/links about this on here somewhere already...

There is an application called iOS viewer for iOS and Android viewer for Android. By connecting your laptop and test device to the same internet network you can test a gamesalad game on the device anytime. You can get the download link at the bottom of this page you will see links at the bottom and one says iOS viewer and another says Android viewer.
