Big Provisioning profile mess... Somebody help please...

Hi guys:

Don't know what I did wrong, but I reinstall Snow leopard and Lion in two different partition, so I deleted everything on my computer, thinking that I got a backup anyways... Problem is that any provisioning profile that i create now give me the error "Valid Signing Identity not found" with a yellow caution symbol, on the Xcode organizer.
I tried already to make a new certificate request, and follow step by step all what TSHIRTBOOTH says on the video, with no luck... Did everything that I know off, and I already frustrated, been on this for a week now trying to fix it... Everything was working flawless before, I already got 2 games on the Apple Store and Android market as well, but now I can't do a thing cause this signing identity stuff...
Please any help will be appreciated I have another game that i've been working for long time now and i won't be able to publish it if this problem persist...

if you made new certificates you will have to apply all the new certificates to the old provisioning profiles. You should have been able to just install the old certifactes and go about your business though. Its always best to export your dev profile and save it in a backup somewhere as well as the certificate signing requests you used to get the certificates in your profile. it makes setting everything back up much easier.

For the idiots out there ( . . . .er . . . me !) how would you go about doing this ?

@tenrdrmer thanks for your response... Problem is that i revoke the old certificates, but even doing a new app id and a new profile I keep having the same error...
I request as well a new certificate signing request... Do you think if I start again and reformat my mac and use all the certificates that i have on my external drive back up it should work?
Or reformat and try to install again all the certificates and provisioning profiles that I just generated... The first time i did it was a long time ago and i dont even remember what is that team development profile that keeps popping even if i deleted...

@azavega - I had this problem too, just I didn't have any apps on the market yet.
I deleted all of the provisioning profiles and development files, then reinstalled with a fresh start. That way, all my files were gone and it would work just like the first time around.

Like I said, I don't know about stuff you already have on the market, though.

Just revoke everything from Apple's end.
Delete everything out of your keychain.
Start again in iTunes connect. They have instructions on the certificate page telling you exactly what to do using Keychain Access.
Then either create new app id's/provisioning profiles or edit them so they now apply with the new license.

I tried messing around for a while recently when i got a new mac, got it in a state, done the above and was backup and running within an hour.

I just found this on the ios developer section.
It is critical that you save your private key somewhere safe in the event that you need to develop on multiple computers or decide to reinstall your system OS. Without your private key, you will be unable to sign binaries in Xcode and test your application on any Apple device. When a CSR is generated, the Keychain Access application creates a private key on your login keychain. This private key is tied to your user account and cannot be reproduced if lost due to an OS reinstall. If you plan to do development and testing on multiple systems, you will need to import your private key onto all of the systems you’ll be doing work on.
It this mean that i'm screw already?

no now that you have revoked them you will have to do it over again. I have a similar issue when I renewed my dev license and it took days of trial and error to get it all to work right. I bet I did 20 signing requests before I finally got it. and honestly could not tell you what it was that was holding it back.

Seriously just do my points from above, you'll be up and running again in no time if you just simply delete all references from Apple certificates and your Keychain Access and then just generate new certificates. Then a new provisioning profile and you'll be sweet as a nut :)

    Good luck

@tynan in order to backup your key you have to export them out of keychain. You can't just copy the files. apple has a section on this in the developer help tab in the provisioning profiles section. Make sure to give each exported key a unique name as keychain exports each file with the same generic naming convention.
