Welcome, I think you will enjoy working with GameSalad. Are you developing for iPhone, Mac or both?

And like beefy_clyro said, there is a lot of getting up to speed info here, you just have to search for it (the magnifying glass in the upper right corner, by the way). And if you don't find the answers, forum members are always willing to help.

    Thanks for the welcome.

I am aiming to develop for iPhone only. I have been a silent member so far since I joined, and have had a lot of insight already, reading both the forums and the Wiki.

I come from an artistic background initially, so GameSalads core functionality without programming really appeals to me.

    Regards.

i also come from an artistic background, and i can definitely say, you will have no problems transforming all your creative ideas into iphone games with gamesalad.

Welcome pixomuse! I must say, your avatar looks very similar to my upcoming 'company logo'.

Thanks, quantumsheep ! I know what you mean, typing PIXOMUSE, I always seems to end up putting in PIXOMOUSE by accident.

rdcube : Thanks, yeah, it's what I'm using as my 'company' logo, I like bright, solid colours, just working on a simple animation with it right now, trying to create something I like. Looking forward to seeing your logo version !

    Regards.

Consider www.sketchup.com for creation of your animated cube (or Flash...but I think sketchup is easier). It will also be handy in creating game sprites/actors as well has backdrops and scenery elements.

    http://sketchup.google.com/community/gallery.html
    Click on the "Gaming" Link.

Another good link of how to use it:

    Welcome BTW.
    Good Luck with GS

    Thanks, synthesis.

I already use Flash for animation, I have a bit more experience with it ( or Maya if any 3D is required - lots of experience with that ). :)

Hello! Welcome to the gs forum. Happy times ad confusion lies ahead.

I've only got one app in the app store, but by Reading lots of the wiki and asking/answerig questions have learnt loads. And been working on my current game for 6weeks. Getting slowly near the end. Recreated my game logo in cinema 4d, Added first round of sound effects yesterday. Keep thinking of extras to add or improve to the game. Simple vs exciting. . .

    Anyway. . . Welcome

Sketchup is REALLY EASY for generating quick wireframes. I highly recommend you check it out at least if you already have not. I use 3DStudio Max for High Res...but I never model in it...I only import 3DS files from sketchup...its 100 times faster for creating models from scratch than using the big gun platforms...because you can design while you build the model and the wireframes remain very simple and low poly. Its much like using digital clay to sculpt.
