do y'all think that maybe it's time to get GS out of beta and just have them do incremental after version 1?

I was thinking that maybe more people would be convince to buy the memberships if it doesn't say beta anymore.

I was talking to a friend about it and they say they don't dare to try 'beta' for fear of 'app not succeeding, crashing their mac or other nonsense'.

for most of us who are already members and know about the limitations, have grown to do workarounds about it's limitations and don't really care it says 'beta'.

also, I think this could open the door to create a new membership inbetween express and pro membership for something that could give us our own logo instead of GS for around $500 (USD) per year and still leave the 'url' for pro (if they could give them something more, like an extended year auto-renewal, I think it'll be fine for now).

just a thought.

what are your thoughts?!?

I agree that moving out of Beta right now would be a bad idea. Having bugs in something not labeled Beta would be very very bad =)

Definitely not til the memory leak is fixed. I think because of the Beta tag, most people are more lenient. We make workarounds. But without the Beta tag I myself probably would be able to see past some of the flaws.

I agree with tshirtbooth and JGary on this one. GameSalad is not quite ready. It needs memory leaks patched, speed improved, glitches fixed, etc., etc., and any additional functionality created and field tested. In my opinion, they'll be much better off with a very solid 1.0 version, along with a reasonable pricing/feature plan for the future. A lot can be ignored and/or forgiven during beta. In fact, I'm thankful they've been this accommodating while they finish their first release. I have confidence they'll get it right, it's just going to be a little while.

Agree with all, GS should stay in beta.
