Game Center multiplayer integration

Hi, found this video about how to connect devices via Game Center I'm new to GS and just wonder if this multiplayer function is something you can integrate in your app since I know GS supports Game Center? If so, do the two players have to play the game at the same time or can they wait on each other just like in Words with Friends for example?

    no multiplayer yet, just leaderboards for now. And achievements are coming soon.
