When will Resolution Independence be enabled for iPad 3 Development?

Title says it all. I was hoping that this would have been activated by launch so that games that were Retina ready could be published to the App store. How quickly will this come online? The very valuable window of "my game is already Retina ready" is quickly closing.

    Now that is a big bummer. It would even be okay even if they just unlocked the 1024 image limit. In my working game, all my double res graphics (2x but still less than 1024) look all great and Retina-y. Anything like BG's that I had to keep at 1024 look pretty bad.

    The whole thing seems kinda odd considering so many existing app developers listened to the rumors and had their Retina apps ready to go at launch. I would assume GS could have done the same thing. Prep the editor, then test at launch. As I said above, I bet that it was coming and designed all my graphics at double res.
