When trying to download Gamesalad update/Xcode, I get a message that says I need to type an administrator's name/password, I put in my username/password (Which is set to 'administrator' under system preferences), Then I get a window that says "Insert an administrator's name and password to allow the program Xcode/gamesalad to make changes to this computer"
What can I do to stop this, would I have to re-install the OS Snow Leopard to reset everything to default?
Help Please!!

If you have forgotten your admin password or find that it doesn't work, you'll need to boot from an OS X Install DVD and reset it by following the instructions under "Resetting the original administrator account password" here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1274?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US.

By the way, a good way to check whether you know your admin password is to open System Preferences, click on Accounts, and then click on the lock next to "Click the lock to make changes" (or if it says "Click the lock to prevent further changes," click the lock first to lock it and then click it again to unlock it). If your password works and you unlock that icon, then you know you have the right password.
