so i've been working on a platformer game, here is some of the art for the game, the main chracter is still on beta phase, so not color, what do you think?
Lightbulb - I am sorry... but this is not working on a whole lot of levels. It's inconsistent and looks like you tried to achieve a pixelated effect but failed.
I can't see the point trying to emulate pixelart when you are clearly using vectors. The little bunch of grass and the grass-line on the ground tiles gives that away - there are no diagonals. It's got to be blocks all the way.
Another problem is the level of detail in the ground tiles... Is it that important that it needs the highest amount of detail which results in catching the viewers eye.
Even if you don't stick to the grid of proper pixel just keeping it squares looks a lot more uniform.
I did a quick revamp of the scene using just boxes and circles with minor modifications to create a more consistent look. I believe that showing things can be more helpful then describing them.
