Finding out todays date in app

Hi,
Can gamesalad take todays date from the iphones calandar ?

I need it for an app that keeps daily stats.

    sorry...to my knowledge...it can not get any information outside of its own self (including time and date).
    It is a self-contained sandbox...that communicates with nothing outside.

    That's a shame.

    It would be nice if this was added into the next version. It should be reasonably easy for them to add that feature.
