Why are my actors moving through each other?

The mechanics of my project are similar to that of Brick, except the paddle is free to move and can rotate.
When an actor (a ball) collides with the paddle while it is stationary, the ball bounces off as normal.
However, if the paddle is moving quickly enough toward the ball, the ball seems to go through the paddle.

How can I fix this?

    ya the problem is the speed.
    GS has a little issue with registering collision in time.
    so if your to fast it will not register the collision and the ball will pass through.
    I hope this gets better with the new engine.

    Really...so there is no workaround for this? Will this glitch still occur when the game is played on a mobile device?
