Can't upload app icon in iTunes Connect?

SlowboySlowboy Member, PRO Posts: 329
Hi all, bit confused here, hopefully someone can help me?
There is literally nowhere I can see to upload my game's 512x512 icon in Connect?! I'm well used to uploading it there when adding a new app, but I just can't see where to do it.
My app is displaying as 'Ready to upload Binary' but I still have the default 'tools' app icon showing! I can't up upload a binary and risk it having no icon in store, surely?
I should mention that this is an OsX app for the App Store, so the method for creating the App ID and Provisioning Profiles is slightly different, but that should change where I upload the icon, should it?
I've done everything else, uploaded screenshots etc. I can see all that, but can't for the life of me see where to upload the icon!? I've started from scratch (Add New App) twice now, but at no point am I offered the opportunity to upload an icon.
Am I going mad?!
Cheers
Wayne

Hmm, just been through this again...so if you add an iphone app, you do all your uploading at the bottom of the info page, Large Icon, then Screen Shots, but if you add a Mac app, you only get Screen Shots Upload button at the bottom of the info page, no Icon Upload button!!
I've tested this several times now and it is consistent for me, anyone else?
Or am I missing something completely and my Mac Icon is uploaded in an entirely different dimension?
    Thanks for any insight offered!

Well I guess they have changed things. Its in a different spot now.

Manage Applications >> Application >> View Details >> Then click the little edit button next to Version Summary and scroll down.

Also you cannot change it on a live app. Only an app in an editable state

Yeah, that's exactly where I am - I got nothing! You mean the very first Edit button don't you - this one has the Ratings stuff in, sex & violence etc? Nothing at he bottom of that lot for me, nothing in any of the edit windows in there.

You don't upload an icon. The icon will be pulled from the binary. All you have to do is add your icon when you publish with gamesalad and then submit the app package to itunes connect. Your icon that you added in the gamesalad publishing process should then appear in itunes connect. Hope this helps.

Perfect, thanks Mega, and Tenr :]
Been going loony here! Just went through it all again, just to make myself crazier. Ok, so I'll just go for it, caution to the wind!

Not for Mac Store apps it would seem. I take it you grabbed that from an iOs app? I definitely do not have that option on Mac apps. It's uploaded now though, so I'll just have to wait and see!

Dear all - did we have any resolution here re the icon issue for Mac Appstore uploads? I've just tried uploading and I'm getting 'product active is invalid - ... does not contain and icon in ICNS format, containing a 1024 x 1024 image".

I understand the icon is part of the binary for Mac Appstore uploads - but Gamesalad only allows you to upload a 512x512 icon and not a 1024x1024 icon...

    Any advice?

I've also just read the post re Sandboxing and the Mac Appstore - so I expect if I do manage to get this issue sorted my binary will be rejected... ho hum...

    Many thanks

    James
