side scroll help please!

hey does anybody know how i can make my background actor follow my character so that i do not have to stretch my image the entire size of the scene? is doing something like that possible? thanks!

    Make a new layer, uncheck scrollable and drag it to the bottom of the layers list so its behind everything, and put your background on that layer
