Joystick Problems in Gamesalad

Hey all,
I have a bit of a problem. I have a game with joystick controls, and sometimes when you play the game the joystick can get in the way of your vision so i created a button on the screen that lets you move the position of the joystick to either the right or left side by changing the position of the joystick using the "change attribute" behavior. Moving it to the right side works fine. However, when you move the joystick to the left side it looks fine until you click to use the joystick. When you click the joystick after you move it to the left side of the screen using the button, the base of the joystick stays where it is supposed to, but the thumbstick moves back to the right side of the screen automatically. This is an extremely annoying bug and i can't progress with my game without it fixed. I hope this made sense and i really hope someone can help me, Thanks!
