How do I draw a glass water?

hi,

i'm trying to draw a water glass in illustrator but i'm not able!! this is my work: :((

plus, I'm not able to insert the water :-S

how can I draw a glass water more realistic possible but in cartoon style to insert in my game?

    Accepted Answer
    good start … top of glass (rim) perhaps should be wider

    duplicate the glass layer … to keep the curves correct
    move new layer down to where you want the water to be in the glass
    floodFill with waterPattern … or use a waterBrush
    erase unneeded glass lines

    @MotherHoose Haha thanks, it takes a lot of training to be able to minimize illustrator as fast as I can when somebody walks past :-)

    I don't know how I feel about the gray at the bottom, maybe make it clear, like a real glass.

    @ooi - That's awsome. Jut a quick tip on making it a little more realistic - Add a gradient to the water and make it slightly transparent. I'll take a shot at it for the fun of it...

    @Zoyt - go for it! I used flat colours partly because @patapple said he was after a cartoony style, and partly because I did it in a rush!

    The main thing about a glass is it's shiny surface and the transparency. In order to give the idea of 'fresh drinking water' it's most common to add blue as we see that as a 'cold, fresh, clean' colour.

    @oii used a grey for the glass making the content a little a less appealing.

    @patapple - yes you are on the right track. You might want to rethink the colour of the outlines though, add more bubbles and more shine.

    and here's a quick sample of taking out the saturation or altering it to a more greenish tone (turning it into something you wouldn't want to drink):
