what is the the best practice for creating shields around an actor?
my actor has a shield , but I am having a difficult time getting the shield to collide with the walls since it is constraint to the actors x y , so the shield is passing thru the walls even though I have a collide rule w the wall in them.

It seems like you're using two different actors. I think one actor — with two different images / sizes — seems better suited for this scenario.

With the shields, the actor is a little bit bigger and has the shield bubble graphics.
Without shields, the actor is smaller.

The trick is to use rules to separate damage... while shields on, deduct hit points from the shield health bar... while shields off, deduct hit points from the ship's hull.

I didnt think of using one actor, I just thought you had to use two actors one for the shield and one for the main actor. So I am guessing with one actor who has two set of hit points one for the shield and one for the main hp, also change image once shield hp is down to 0. this is the correct way to do it? I will try . :)
