Hi Guys

Is this possible to do in GS or using a 3rd party integrating with GS?

http://activeden.net/item/interactive-3d-world-map-extended-edition/100932?WT.ac=search_thumb&WT.seg_1=search_thumb&WT.z_author=flash_fx

Basically I want to have a main menu inside my game be a 3D world map (or fake 3D) to select the stages.

Thanks!

Whilst it's not impossible to recreate that, it would take a lot of work and would probably be a little heavy on resources.

    Hello,
If GS had the power to move pixels in an image to a different spot, this would be a little easier, but they don't. I have a few ideas on how this might be possible, but they would take a fair amount of work. When I get in the computer, I'll try them out and also describe them to you. I might be unsuccessfully with my technique because I'm not to that level of math yet in school, but we'll see what I can do.

Zoyt, that would be amazing, thanks!

That looks a lot like the Touchgrind BMX menu. You may be able to get something similar using an animation but it would be heavy on performance.

@redsky - I'm not very far, but we'll see. I predict it will. But you won't be able to really tile a background while keeping it look OK. I can also render it in something like Blender and export the photos named by it's point of view. Then put the objects on the image on an appropriate place. It would be a large file, but I'll put it as my second method. I'm planning on making it a free template. Give me time...

@romma - I have a lot of projects going on right now along with school. But I'm working on it little by little. It's not much right now though. In the mean time, you might try rendering a globe in something like Blender and rotating it by frame, but I don't know how you would link the places.
