I like the idea with 2.jpg picture. Gets the point across.

Hmm... Last one is kind of interesting (edit: you edited it. a combo of the last one and the second to last one). Here's my very rough shot at it:
    Worded Time Icon
I used Art Text for the text. Like it? Want more? Want the file? Just LMK.

Quick suggestion: Your saying "just words", but your using numbers in the clock.

They are too detailed for an object that small. If you compare them to the other icons with bold colors and large features, it's doesn't stand out.

To be brutally honest - neither one works for me... they still look like failed attempts, glued together bits that are inconsistent and not appealing.

My suggestion is going really simple:

and as far as the main screen goes it would make more sense to use a font that is better readable - using bitmap images - and to top it off it would be great to use the text blocks and make voice blocks out of them and have the time read out to you. ;)

[and preferably with matching colours :) just realized the icon font and the screen mock font are different shades :\ ]

As always... looking good @SpriteAttack :) Really love what you did with main screen

@crazyfishdev - thanks... it's just a quick mock and there would be a lot of room for improvement - maybe even some skins (wondering how girly it would look in pink with hearts and flowers on the border ;) )

haha you should do it :) nothing would grab my attention more than a game that looks like that!

Currently i have 4 fonts and 5 textures, but most just average clock faces. And i agree it would be better to have the words on top, right now i have it like a back lit effect where the words are transparent and the actors behind them "light" or "dim"

pic shows the both screens, obviously on the phone the camera just pan over when you select settings and back after back arrow

@morphinegamingmachine - keep in mind that the whole application is focused on the readability of the text and the 'serif engraved font' as well as the bold one below it are not that great to read - neither is the gold or the wood background imho. It should be plain and stylish rather than playful and 'game like'

man i wish you went hooked with darren (If I'm not mistaken y'all make games together, he codes you do the art)
your so quick and great with art.

yeah i blow at art, just try to use photo shop and get things looking as good as i can.
ill keep bring to make the clock app more readable. i wanted to make a real physical clock but figured making it on my phone and iPhone would take less time and be cooler cause i could share it with others. i mean for it to be something you have up when you dock your phone or tablet

i have one game that i think looks pretty got for now tho.

like that game look a lot... the problem i think is that your using the wrong program... you need to be using an illustrator program not an editing program.. makes it a lot easier on you to form the clean cut stuff that @SpriteAttack makes... Don't forget.. he's been doing this a while and even with an illustrator program it can be hard
