Particle effects
Hi guys,
I hope you're all well.
I've spent the last couple of months on an app that I'm hopefully going to release soon (on iPad and iPhone).
I really needed to add in an effect that basically are stars that follows your finger wound the screen.
I found a brilliant template when looking through the forums, which works BRILLIANTLY, however, the problem that I have is this - is I look at it within the GameSalad preview, it works 100% fine, all the time - perfect and exactly what I'm after - however, when I load it onto the iPad, it doesnt appear at all? its a huge shame as the effect really finishes off my app, and i've tried so many things to try and get it working on the iPad.
I assume its ok to post a link to the template (as it is currently within the forums, but apologies to anyone who doesnt like links to appear more than once, i've only put a link in as it would be easier for you to find it than looking through all the threads):
http://www.flurry.name/zoyt/gamesalad/downloads/fnparticles.zip
I've tried it with mouse over and press, however nothing works on the pad, but as I say, it always works fine when i preview.
I would really appreciate anyones help with this, as i'm totally stuck and its such a great effect.
Cheers,
Chris

@Zoyt and @cnmeyer1980 .. the downloaded project file didn't work for me so I put a display attribute in for the self.AnglePreX/Y value and it was showing an error. I copied the attribute to recreate it and turned off the original and it started working. Not sure if that solves your problem!

I love links to anything on my website. Intriguing I put there is free. Here's what I think you have to do to get it working:
1. Find the "Constrain Attribute" for the touch object's position x and y. Click in the value that it's changed to and choose touch 1 x/y for the correct one.
2. In the rule that test is the mouse button is down, change it to if touch is down.
Sorry this instructions are not so clear. I'll post a version that works with mobile devices and have multitouch soon.
Any questions? LMK.
P.S. I'm glad someone finds my website helpful.
First of all, thank you so much for sharing such a great template, it really is such a great effect, and one i'm sure many people on here will find very useful.
I will give what you say a go and let you know how it goes.
Thanks again for both the template and advise.
Cheers,
Chris
