    In fact it doesn't matter.

:\ I am really struggling on what to make.

Is there much money in these gun apps?

You're 15, right? (I think I saw you post that somewhere). Let's assume you are. You probably don't have a mortgage, or a car payment, or retirement fund, or...

What do you like to do?

I'm a school teacher, so I make science games. I have a ridiculous game i am working on called xtreme mountain busing - it's stupid, but I like it. I'm in a band, so I make games that relate to my band.

One of my science games (Blood Kart Racing) was featured as a Hot New Game - it's a game about the circulatory system. Because of that I made close to $300 - I never thought it would sell more than 10!

As a fifteen year-old you have the luxury of being able to think of this as a form of self expression not just a way to pay the bills. Hopefully for those of us with a mortgage its both!

So take whatever is going through your head and bring it to life. And have fun doing it - screw the monthly pay check. My guess is that you will actually get more sales in the end with that philosophy because you will make something really original.

    Good Luck!

That is a good philosophy to live by. (but i'm in competition with this other guy).

Do you think game salad can negotiate something with openfeint?

Don't expect Open Feint anytime soon...and if they did deliver that...it would probably cost extra or require a pro membership.

    Yes most probably.

    scitunes said it all.

don't rush iDeveloperz. work hard on your games, and they will just get better and better naturally.

Absolutely listen to what Scitunes is saying!

And why are you in competition with someone? Forget that. Do what YOU want to do.

    QS :)

I guess a middle ground between my philosophy and your need to win this competition you speak of is to look at popular games. Check out Hot New Games and the top 100 in the different game categories. Look for 2D games in a style that you like and buy some of them. Try to figure out why you like the ones you like and why you don't like the others. Then make something similar to the popular games that you like with a bit of your own personality. Give your game keywords that you think people will likely use when looking for the popular games, then they'll see your too. You could also look at free game sites on the internet and see what is popular there and make something similar. Spend time playing around with programs like pixen and gimp (basically an opensource version of photoshop). Use photoshop tutorials to learn how to use gimp. When you can't get graphics to look right, try buying some from stock image sites. Graphics don't necessarily make a game more fun, but they may help make the sale when someone looks at your screen shots.

But don't just make a game that you think will sell if you don't like that style or type of game because chances are if you don't like that style of game you will not understand the nuances that make that style of game enjoyable to those who do like that style (holy run-on, Batman!)

(Think I can say "style of game" one more time?)

    style of game

If you say 'style of game' three times in a mirror, Tshirtbooth appears...
