how to make a scrolling thingy

You know how when you first open your iphone/ipod touch thing and after you swipe the thingy and it unlocks you get to your home area where you can slide your finger to get to the different pages. like you can swipe right to get to the search thing, and swipe left to get to your many different apps. I want to be able to make a swipe menu thing for my game where you can swipe left and then the screen moves right with the power that you swiped it. How the crap do i do that
