@waymanharris you have inspired me as well. I have all the high end video production equipment and haven't gotten around to telling my story. Working and then game development and my wife and kids but like you say "sleep is for the weak" I too am a study and work aholic. I have two degrees, was a signed screenwriter, audio engineer, film and video, motion graphics and now game design. I have also had a 30 year career as a journeyman electrical specializing in control systems. I need to live like 100 more years to learn and do all the stuff I am curious about....lol
I have a son and step daughter as well; I just don't want to put them in my story for security reasons. Unfortunitley that's how it is where I live. The same is true with the "Wifey". I don't want to draw attention to them. But I'm truely intereasted in hearing other developers stories, and would watch ever episode of your serise if you ever decided to create your own. The same is true with the other developers here! Trust me, I fully understand how hard the multitasking part is, and how the days just seem to short. I'm literally editing a video every week and then jumping right back into my game. Every week I feel I might have taken on more then I can handle, but the response that I have been getting is all I need to keep moving forward. I figure it will all pay off in the future. But I too could use 100 more years!
@waymanharris Nice vid and accomplishment dude! I hear ya on having to abandon the gaming sessions, but it makes going back to play them that much sweeter once you have knocked out a project.
Do/did you ever pick up poorly rated/buggy games for study purposes? Along with the AAA tiles out there I tend to pick up the short bus games too. I find that studying the obvious flaws are actually a great method of seeing how certain effects, designs and scripting are carried out as well as understand why it failed as whole.
@youngster9 Sweet. I take it your from Milwaukee? @Kamikawa is also from wisconsin.
@RP Make no mistake, I'm always buying the latest titles. I just don't get embedded in them too deep. But I still have to keep up with what is current. So I still play games.
Wayne, you just inspired me and I'm now following you on twitter, love your videos. Keep it up man! In my day job I work as a senior creative for a mobile development company, I wish I had more time for my own projects. Seriously inspired about you putting this to film.
Wow, thank you for choosing to follow me, I'm currently not working a 9/5, so I'm working pretty hard to ride this unemployment wave while it last. We only live once! I'm happy you enjoyed there will be more next week.
We all know how tough it is to live through this bad economic time. Good luck with your games and I hope you find some nice money on the other side of your latest project.
Thank you all for taking the time out to follow my progress as I build my game. Here is episode 4 "Food with a side of doubt". please enjoy. and I love the feedback!!!
its good to know other people in the world that experience what you do as an indie developer. the daily struggles and the thought process. im always thinking "what can i do to make this game better?". i actually have a to-do list as a checklist that i make after everytime i test an adhoc build. whenever i go through and make all the changes i noted down i go back and test the game then my list grows out again. but yeah, keeping making more videos. they're quite interesting to watch. i'll be watching indie game next week. we have a screening here in my city the day before a game developer conference
@DreamLab I'll keep the vids coming for sure! Ha Thank you for watching.
@xforce I know the feeling of losing track of what you should be doing, and needing a list to keep you on track when developing your game! I too have a crazy list that I often times don't even follow... Indie Game, is truly an inspiring peace of work, you won't be let down. The producers are really nice and supportive too. What city are you in? And when is your developer conference. We too have a conference in Madison, Wi on the 9th of June. Thank you for watching, and I'm glad you enjoyed.

I truely agree. The minute people get to see the face behind the work, they get a better picture of the real world.
Funny thing is I was just slightly accused of trying to create marketing ploy! "NOT really being an independent developer"
That just made my day! I'm so happy now. Ha
To think that I'm being doubted does more then empower me, it revives me!
Long live Indie. Lol
@macewan
Ha ha.
Then my mission is partially complete.
Bring it. Lol
can't wait to watch!
"YOU CAN DO IT"
