I'm looking to make a game like game dev story by kariosoft but with vector graphics and I want it to tell the story of an indie game designer to a big company like ea. (pay 300$)

I am hiring an artist sorry if that wasn't clear ( btw I'm 12 just so leonarddeveloper doesn't post)

    I know I just made sure to include my age this time so you wouldn't have to post but .....

    @LeonardDeveloper

    It's not your job to look out for him.

    Just keep your nose out of his business. Last time I checked you weren't his mom.

    Then by his logic he should put his age in every thread and in the icon thread he just made since hes a minor too. I agree if your a minor you need to make that known when entering into paid work/arrangements. I just dont know why he feels its his personal job to put that in everything you post.

    300$ for that much graphics is low, at least for a freelancer ( that pays 39% in taxes), but you might be luck to find an hobbyist who will do it for that sum. Or you could learn to make graphics yourself. If you're 12 years old, you got all the time in the world. Good luck:)

    Yeah I would recommend working on making your own art because you have at least 1-2 full years before high school to get some experience. I have just started making art myself and it really is a lot of fun.

    Save the $300 man :P

    I'm not trying to be your "Mom" but because we know you're young and that you're willing to pay, there's a chance that someone might try to take advantage of the situation. I'm not trying to discredit this community, I'm new here and I think this community is awesome, but it's open to everyone on the internet - good and bad (and as posts by others have pointed out "trying to make a quick buck"). Pay after you receive the work, or in installments. Have a clear contract set in place. Plan your game to know exactly what you need. Even adults get duped.

    You're probably incredibly intelligent for your age (I mean your taking up game development!!), so I hope that didn't come off as patronizing in any way. I'm sure you knew all that already.

    Also, I second recommending doing it on your own. Art is just practice, and once you get good at it, guess what?? You've got that skill for life. Imagine how much money you'll save in the future by doing your own art.

    Spend that money on getting some good books on art and graphics. Gimp and Inkscape are free and are both amazing.

    EDIT: But also be patient if you do. It will take some hard work.

    I wish. More like 3 hours a week if your lucky at least for me. I'm 13. Sadly, that means I can't do paid stuff because of time and age. But I'm making a lot of sick art I might just share for free. Sorry to take this off topic.
