Code Signing Failed Error

OaklandasfanOaklandasfan Member Posts: 213
Hey guys, long time no see. The last time I was here was TOTB3, if anyone was wondering. Anyways, I'm trying to submit my game, Capsule, to the app store and for some reason it is giving me this error: Code Signing Failed. Make sure your provisioning profile, developer certificate, and WWDR certificate are installed. I think I have about quintuple checked now if all of those things are installed and I still get the error. I have them all downloaded in the same folder (but a separate folder than the game itself, if it matters). Is there anything else I need that it's not telling me about? Please help quickly.

    I have.

    Open up Xcode and go to Organizer, turn on auto-device provisioning and hit refresh, it should show you whether your profile is valid or not.
    I recently had my certificate expired by Apple for no apparent reason so for all dev apps i have had to go back to developer.apple.com and recreate / edit my provisioning profiles.

    If you download a new profile be sure to exit gamesalad while you check in xcode and then when you go back to gamesalad it should pick up the new one.

    HTH,

    I had this error once, I simply deleted all certificates, and profiles, and download them again - it helped.

    Also make sure you have the right version of Xcode and make sure gamesalad is seeing your profiles.

    @Jez
    Thanks for the help! I'll try that as soon as I get near a computer.

    I haven't tried deleting certificates, mostly because I made most of them last week. But I'll try that if Jez' idea works.
    @Bacon
    What version of Xcode? I have 4.0.0.

    I know what's wrong now. The AppleWWDRCA.cer isn't showing up in Keychain Access, even when I double click it.

    These kind of errors are always trial and error to fix in my experience. Back up first, then start again getting certificates and things. Also check that stuff hasn't expired. Sorry cant be more specific. It has happened to me in while, but i had entire days lost to this kind of debugging and re-trying. Good Luck, I feel for your pain :-)

    Alway check your key chain when having provisioning issues as keychain is the root of all those files.

    @ Oaklandasfan, I'm really pleased you managed to fix your problem, could you let me know what you did as I'm having exactly the same error. I've tried deleting profile, adding profiles, checking certificates and all sorts, I had no problem at all with the iPad version, but I'm getting LOADS of errors with the iPhone version when it comes to uploading. I first tried on friday and left it until today (just in case there were errors on servers - which I doubted) however, I'm still getting this same problem - so, I would really appreciate if you let me know how you cracked it as I think I'm having the same error as you.

    Cheers mate,

    Chris

    Check this resource from Apple every time you have a Code Signing error:

    @cnmeyer1980 For me, for some reason the Apple WWDRCA wasn't installing but I eventually got it working.
