TouchArcade rant

Toucharcade is a wonderful place to attempt to advertise your game, but unless your company name is Gameloft or Chillengo, its hard to get the word out and get noticed. I find it really annoying. You can get a good amount of views, but next to no feedback. Just thought I would rant a bit

Don't agree. It depends on your game, and contacts you make on the forum. If you have a poor game, and just put a simple topic about it - do you think that there will be a lot of answers?
Good game, then good topic, and good forum reputation - these are the keys.

I understand your pain but believe it or not I've seen a few GS games get reviewed...

@TheMoonwalls have any tips on "Fleshing out" posts?
@Ebreeze Yeah, no doubt about it, but I was referencing the forums. And I have too

I dont agree either. It depends on quality of the game.

A combo video and screen shot post works best with a huge description.....people first take .5 seconds to look at the screen shots...then if they like will watch the video and notice you

Couldn't agree more with John. A bad game is a bad game. No matter how much you market it, where you post it, or who sees it, because in reality, even if the whole world saw the crappiest game(not saying yours is crappy), the game still wouldn't get very many sales.

I tend to not click on Gameloft and Chillingo threads anymore on Toucharcade because I love seeing the Indie games and how well made some of them are.

If you have a decent game, and still no feedback, bump your thread, or get a friend to just incase no one saw it.

ALSO: Thread titles are important. Make it interesting, same as the appstore, get them to click it!

i made a topic over there similar to the post i have here about my game. 0 replies lol i know my game isnt crap looking either. but i havnt posted a gameplay video yet so that might possibly be the problem so when i get around to it ill see what happens then. but i notice even good looking games at times get no response. its such a common thing over there to see an extremely high standard. i mean from a consumer point of view many times ive looked through the upcoming games forum. i see a really good looking game. my response? just close the topic. i really dont have anything to say or add to the thread.
